Zoe Fysikoudi, MA, RP

Zoe is creative and playful. She tailors her approach and pace according to the needs of the child she is working with. Zoe uses play therapy, art and creativity, sand tray, puppets, bibliotherapy alongside talk therapy in order to help children and youth share their stories.
Zoe has worked in private practice, schools, and community organizations supporting children and young people presenting with:

  • anxiety
  • relationship difficulties
  • social skills
  • behavioural issues
  • emotional dysregulation
  • low self-esteem
  • loss and grief
  • separation and divorce
  • trauma
Zoe is passionate about working with children, youth and their families. Zoe’s approach is gentle, kind, authentic, attentive, and playful. She allows the therapeutic process to unfold and allows the child to take the lead. However, being attuned to the child needs and communication, she implements a more directive approach when needed to make the child feel safe and gradually help them take the lead themselves. Children and teens who have worked with Zoe say that she is easy to talk to and they feel heard, accepted, and safe to be themselves.

Zoe respects that parents may also need support to understand and walk with their children while they go through changes, like separation/divorce or loss. Parents who have attended parenting sessions with Zoe say that they appreciate identifying strategies to support their children that meet their families’ needs.

Zoe grew up in a small village in Greece. After living for several years in England, Zoe has decided to settle in Canada. She loves travelling and connecting with people. During her first winter in Canada she travelled to Algonquin park in running shoes, thinking you could rent boots there. She went to Algonquin looking for tranquility and healing energy of the nature, which she is even able to find in running shoes.
