Couples and families tend to come to therapy when there is an issue with communication. We often hear that people aren't connecting in the way they want to and that there isn't as much intimacy in there relationship as folks expected. Couples and families are often related in long held patterns that come to a point of not working anymore.
When couples and families come to see us, we put the relationship front and center. What this means is that whatever patterns are happening, it is the therapists job to disrupt them and shed light on the difficulty.
We keep our focus on creating the healthiest relationships possible for you and your family. We want to support you to build healthy, lasting relationships.
When you decide to come in for couple therapy, both members of the couple are encouraged to be equal partners in the process and will come together to the first appointment..
When your family decides to attend family therapy the adults in the family are asked to attend an assessment as a first appointment and your therapist will recommend the best course of action thereafter.
